Walmart Blocks Its Stock From OKX-ICE Tokenized Trading Venue
Summary
Walmart, Eli Lilly, Cigna, Carnival and Arcos Dorados have objected to their shares being offered on OKXICE TSV, bringing the total number of objecting companies to 38. Under the SEC’s innovation exemption, a venue cannot list a third-party tokenized version of a company’s stock if the company objects in writing within 30 days. The OKX-ICE joint venture plans 24/7 trading of tokenized U.S. stocks through permissioned Uniswap pools on XLayer, using stablecoins. Its exemption limits eligible stocks and trading volumes; companies including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and Amazon have not yet objected.
