WisdomTree And MoonPay Expand US Access To Tokenized Funds
WisdomTree is integrating MoonPay’s payment infrastructure into WisdomTree Prime to make its tokenized investment products easier for retail users to buy. The partnership gives MoonPay’s large user base another path into blockchain-based funds, including WisdomTree’s Government Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX). WTGXX is not a stablecoin; it is a regulated money market fund whose ownership and distribution use blockchain rails. The main goal is to reduce onboarding friction by enabling card and bank-transfer access instead of requiring users to navigate crypto-wallet complexity. The deal highlights a key issue in tokenized finance: distribution matters as much as tokenization. Money market and Treasury funds are emerging as early real-world asset use cases because they are familiar, liquid, and easier to adapt to blockchain infrastructure. Other major asset managers are pursuing similar products, so competition is increasingly centered on user access and simple buying experiences.
