Zama And Morpho Push Confidential DeFi With New USDC Yield Vault
Zama and Morpho are developing a confidential USDC yield vault for Ethereum that uses fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) to keep certain deposit and strategy details private while still settling on public infrastructure. The goal is selective privacy: institutions can use DeFi without exposing deposit size, portfolio movements, or strategy signals to the market. This matters because Ethereum’s transparency can deter funds, market makers, and large depositors that need stronger confidentiality. The design also points to a compliance-friendly model, where participants may prove eligibility or meet rules without revealing sensitive internal data. The launch is significant as a practical test of privacy-enhancing DeFi, but adoption will depend on audits, UX, stability, and competitive yield.
