Alleged $11 Million XRP Thief Countersues Widow of Country Music Legend George Jones
Kirk West, accused of stealing over $11 million in XRP and $400,000 in cash from Nancy Jones, widow of George Jones, has filed a countersuit claiming entitlement to a portion of the funds. West alleges he was a victim of fraud and defamation and asserts he made lucrative investments for both parties during their romantic relationship, which began after George Jones’ death. West became close to Nancy after 2013, gained her trust, and persuaded her to invest heavily in various cryptocurrencies. He also allegedly purchased additional tokens on her behalf. In 2023, after Nancy discovered a hardware wallet and assets missing following West’s ejection from her home, legal action enabled her to recover most of the missing XRP, though over $1 million worth remains unrecovered. West now seeks half of the disputed crypto, cash, and precious metals, disputing Nancy Jones’ theft claims and calling for a split of all shared assets accumulated during their relationship.
