Apple and Google Go Hunting for Crypto Talent, Hint at Stablecoin Push
Apple and Google are hiring senior staff with stablecoin, tokenized deposit, and blockchain expertise, signaling deeper interest in digital assets. Apple is seeking a New York strategist for Apple Pay, Wallet, Payments, and Commerce work, with responsibilities that include evaluating product structures, partnerships, and growth opportunities for Apple Card and Apple Cash. Preferred experience includes stablecoins, tokenized deposits, blockchain, peer-to-peer payments, credit cards, and non-U.S. payment systems. The listing does not indicate Apple plans to add stablecoins to its products. Google Cloud is hiring a Web3 technical leader in Hong Kong to advise digital asset clients across Asia-Pacific, including blockchain foundations, exchanges, custodians, financial institutions, and dApp developers. The role calls for knowledge of stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, custody, validators, zero-knowledge systems, smart contracts, and regional compliance rules. Google already runs blockchain infrastructure and is developing the Universal Ledger for payments and asset tokenization. Visa and Mastercard are also expanding stablecoin settlement support.
