Apple And Nvidia Tokenized Stocks Can Now Back USDC Loans On Aave
Aave V4 has launched an Equities Hub on Base that lets eligible non-U.S. users deposit Coinbase-issued tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral and borrow USDC against them. Seven equities are supported at launch: Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla. The tokens are issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd. and tied to shares held in segregated custody at Alpaca Securities, giving holders exposure to real equities. USDC is the only borrowable asset initially, and users cannot borrow the stocks themselves or create stock-for-stock positions. Chainlink provides collateral pricing, with feeds aligned to the extended U.S. market week rather than running continuously. The launch brings tokenized equities closer to traditional brokerage use cases by making them usable as onchain borrowing collateral, though access remains restricted and risk limits apply.
