Google Just Made Free 1080p AI Video Generation Available to Anyone
Google has made one of its AI video tools free inside Google Vids, so anyone with a Google account can generate HD videos in the browser-based editor. The system uses Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash to turn text prompts, photos, audio, or existing clips into new footage. It adds editing features such as scene extension, exact scene timing, and upscaling older AI clips to 1080p. Videos include invisible SynthID watermarks, and Google provides a SynthID Detector to verify AI-generated content. Generation is fast, taking under 30 seconds for a short clip in testing, though outputs may be limited by account type and some users only saw 720p. Personal accounts get a basic allowance, while paid and Workspace plans get larger quotas and admin controls. Google also plans text-to-speech narration in more than 100 languages.
