ARK adds staked Solana to two tech ETFs
ARK Invest has increased its exposure to staked Solana (SOL) by adding shares of 3iQ’s Solana Staking ETF (SOLQ) to the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF). This makes ARKW and ARKF the first US-listed ETFs to gain exposure to Solana. The funds include a mix of technology stocks and spot cryptocurrencies, featuring companies like Coinbase and Block. The recent listing of Solana futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange suggests that US SOL ETF listings may be forthcoming. In Canada, 3iQ launched its Solana ETF after receiving approval from the Ontario Securities Commission. Solana's total value locked exceeds $7 billion, making it the second-most popular blockchain after Ethereum. The SEC approved spot Ether ETFs in July 2024. ARK previously partnered with 21Shares to launch a Bitcoin ETF and an Ether ETF, but dissolved the Ether partnership before its launch.
