Binance Founder CZ Projects Bitcoin Supercycle for 2026, Denies Trump Relationship
Changpeng “CZ” Zhao predicts a Bitcoin “supercycle” in 2026, citing increasing pro-crypto sentiment in the U.S. government and expectations that other countries will follow, potentially breaking Bitcoin’s typical four-year price cycle. Zhao, who holds Bitcoin and Binance’s BNB, refrained from giving specific price targets. Other industry figures, including Ripple’s Brad Garlinghouse and BitMex’s Arthur Hayes, have projected Bitcoin prices reaching $180,000 to $200,000 by 2026. Zhao stated Bitcoin’s long-term trajectory is upward. He denied any personal or business connections with Donald Trump, despite claims of influence over Trump’s pardoning, and clarified that an Abu Dhabi firm’s $2 billion investment—made via a crypto stablecoin linked to Trump associates—was at the investor’s discretion. Zhao completed a four-month prison sentence in 2024 related to Binance’s money laundering violations.
