Binance Founder CZ Says He Applied for President Trump Pardon
Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, founder and former CEO of Binance, has initiated the application process for a pardon from President Trump after serving a four-month prison sentence for money laundering. Zhao refuted claims that he sought to exchange Binance.US equity for a pardon, stating he has had no discussions regarding equity with anyone. He confirmed that he is working with lawyers on the legal steps for the pardon application, which began recently following misleading reports about the equity exchange. Zhao's application was submitted approximately two weeks ago. He noted that inaccurate news stories motivated him to officially apply. Other notable figures in the crypto industry, including Roger Ver and Sam Bankman-Fried, are also seeking pardons.
