Binance’s Yi He warns of alleged impersonation scam, CoinUp denies ties
Yi He, Binance co-founder, warned on X about an alleged scammer and impersonator known as “Zhu Pan,” saying the person had previously impersonated her in failed scam attempts and urging awareness. The warning followed Chinese-language social media claims linking Zhu Pan to crypto derivatives platform CoinUp. CoinUp quickly denied any operational ties, saying Zhu Pan is not part of its management or core operations, though it acknowledged a connection to a project listed on its platform. The dispute highlights how fast social media rumors can create reputational risk for crypto exchanges and public figures. Zhu Pan’s identity remains unclear, with limited and conflicting public information. CoinUp also said recent sharp moves in its CPX token were driven by concentrated selling pressure, not hacking or technical breaches.
