Bitcoin Family Splits Seed Phrase Across Four Continents After Crypto Attacks
Didi Taihuttu, leader of the "Bitcoin Family," has revamped his family's digital asset security due to rising violent attacks on crypto holders. The family, which invested heavily in Bitcoin in 2017, now distributes parts of their private keys across four continents. Taihuttu employs a hybrid security approach, stating that even under duress, he can only access limited funds. Their seed phrase is encrypted, divided into four parts, and stored using blockchain services and fireproof metal plates hidden globally. The family has adopted a nomadic lifestyle and ceased posting real-time location updates due to threats. Approximately 65% of their assets are in cold storage, with hot wallets secured by multisignature protocols. Crypto-related crimes have surged alongside rising digital asset values, with notable incidents including kidnappings and extortion attempts in various countries.
