Bitcoin price steadies, ONDO rallies as US Treasury yields hit 2007 highs

Summary

Bitcoin was volatile during US trading as the 10-year Treasury yield jumped to 5.18%, its highest since 2007, and the 30-year yield reached 5.46%. BTC briefly fell below $83,000 and then struggled to recover above $84,500, as rising yields made bonds more attractive relative to non-yielding assets like Bitcoin. The move came alongside weakness in global bond markets and renewed pressure on the Japanese yen, which could add more pressure to US yields if Japan intervenes in FX markets. Meanwhile, ONDO was one of the strongest altcoins, rebounding above $0.50. The token’s gains coincided with the launch of Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, a BlackRock-backed product that offers non-US users tokenized access to diversified model portfolios. The new tokens launched on Ethereum and BNB Chain, with settlement via CoW Protocol.
