The Cardano Foundation addressed criticism regarding its role in the blockchain ecosystem, particularly allegations of internal conflicts and sidelining key contributors like founder Charles Hoskinson. Concerns arose over its participation in Catalyst Fund 13 as a Delegated Representative with 180 million ADA tokens. The Foundation published a blog post and FAQ on December 16, reaffirming its commitment to Project Catalyst since 2021, focusing on decentralization, governance, and sustainability. It noted low voter engagement in Catalyst, with only 4.8 billion ADA registered to vote out of 35 billion in circulation. The Foundation pledged to enhance transparency in future voting processes and encouraged large stakeholders to adopt similar practices. It acknowledged IOG's contributions but emphasized support for the Cardano Constitution and long-term ecosystem goals, clarifying that budget endorsements would align with these objectives.
