Cardano’s 2027 budget proposal would let funding stewards seek grants too
Intersect’s proposed Cardano Ecosystem Budget Process for 2027 would give Intersect, PRAGMA and the Cardano Foundation stewardship roles across six funding domains. They could help set priorities, budget caps and application-assessment procedures, and could also seek funding themselves. DReps would retain authority to approve stewards, budgets and every treasury withdrawal. A seventh, steward-free Open Contributions route would let applicants approach DReps directly, but its funding share and assessment rules are not yet specified. The proposal allows steward funding with disclosure and safeguards, while common recusal, independent review and appeals procedures remain unclear. The process would be a 2027 trial only if DReps approve it; Intersect is seeking feedback before a tentative Nov. 10 concept vote. The framework relies on DRep social commitments rather than technical enforcement.
