Circle to acquire Tazapay to expand USDC cross-border payments
Circle has agreed to acquire Singapore-based cross-border payments platform Tazapay, with closing expected in 2027 pending customary conditions and approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Tazapay processes over $25 billion in annualized payment volume, works with more than 60 banking and fintech partners, and supports local payout rails in over 100 markets. Stablecoins make up about 60% of its transaction volume. Circle has already invested in Tazapay, including its August 2025 Series B round, and says the deal will strengthen its ability to route payments to and from Asia-Pacific and emerging markets. Circle expects the acquisition to help expand near-instant, 24/7 global payment origination and termination and advance USDC as a cross-border payment rail. Tazapay customers are expected to see no disruption to service, APIs, pricing, or support. Financial terms were not disclosed.
