Coinbase to Delist Unauthorized Stablecoins in EU by December

Summary

Coinbase will de-list unauthorized stablecoins in the EU by December 2024 to comply with the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) rules. MiCA requires stablecoin issuers to have an e-money license in an EU member state. Circle secured an Electronic Money Institution license, while Tether has not. Coinbase will provide options for EEA customers to switch to compliant stablecoins like Circle's USDC and EURC. Further details will be shared in November.
