Crypto advocacy group announces picks for US Congress as midterms loom
Stand With Crypto, Coinbase’s industry-aligned advocacy group, has begun endorsing candidates for the next US Congress. Its latest picks include Senate candidates Jon Husted in Ohio, Ashley Hinson in Iowa, and Chris Pappas in New Hampshire, plus House candidates Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa and Shomari Figures in Alabama. The endorsements come as control of Congress could shift in 2027, affecting crypto legislation such as the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, which recently failed to clear a Senate cloture vote after passing the House. The group had already endorsed 32 House candidates in August and warned of consequences for lawmakers who opposed the bill. Crypto-backed spending is already heavily involved in key races, with Fairshake and other PAC money supporting candidates like Husted.
