Crypto Exchange Blockchain.com Files for IPO in the US
Blockchain.com has confidentially filed for a U.S. public offering, though specifics on share amount and pricing are undecided. Founded in the U.K. in 2011, the company has enabled over 100 million crypto wallets and processed more than $1 trillion in transactions. Its move toward an IPO aligns with similar plans from firms like Kraken, Ledger, and Consensys, following recent high-profile crypto firm IPOs such as Circle. Other exchanges, including Gemini and Bullish, have also gone public, with mixed post-IPO performance: Gemini’s valuation dropped below $700 million, while Bullish maintains a market cap near $5.94 billion. Blockchain.com was previously valued up to $14 billion and recently gained approval to serve U.K. crypto customers. Whether it can match competitors’ public market performance remains uncertain.
