Crypto for Advisors: Stablecoins are ready for prime time
EY-Parthenon’s 2026 survey of 521 corporate and financial institution decision-makers indicates blockchain payments are moving from pilots to production: 18% of corporates use stablecoins and 15% use tokenized deposits. Sixty-nine percent of financial institutions offer or plan stablecoin services within two years. Cross-border payments lead adoption, while many respondents expect stablecoins and tokenized deposits to coexist. Integration with existing banking and treasury systems, credible economics, compliance and programmability are identified as key to scaling. An expert says established payment companies and banks may benefit from distribution and customer relationships, but euro stablecoins are unlikely to displace dollar tokens globally given their liquidity and network advantages.
