Crypto stocks rebound after CLARITY Act selloff

Summary

Crypto-linked stocks rebounded sharply as Bitcoin moved back above $80,000, reversing losses tied to the Senate’s failure to advance the CLARITY Act earlier in the week. Strategy rose more than 13%, Coinbase and American Bitcoin gained about 11% each, and Robinhood added nearly 9%. Circle, Strive, and Riot Platforms also climbed roughly 5% to 7%. Bitcoin was up about 5% to around $80,800. The prior selloff had hit the same names hard after the Sept. 15 vote, with Coinbase and Circle falling about 10%, Strategy and Strive about 5%, and American Bitcoin about 8%. Separately, U.S. regulators have continued advancing crypto-related steps under existing authority, including CFTC no-action relief for passive software providers and SEC easing for some tokenized-securities trading platforms.
