DATA Network to migrate to Sui, retire own chain
Summary
DATA Network, formerly Story Protocol, plans to retire its independent blockchain and move its AI training data protocol to Sui, backed by a $30 million Sui Foundation investment. Its Trace registry will join Sui, and Walrus will become the default storage layer for DATA Foundation applications. The network will keep operating until the upgrade; a timeline and token-holder transition plan are expected before it is completed. The project had shifted from intellectual property licensing to AI data provenance and licensing in June.
