DePIN Project Wants to Send Satellites to Space to Give Internet to the Underserved
Spacecoin aims to provide high-speed internet to remote communities using a decentralized network of nanosatellites, addressing the digital divide affecting billions. The initiative utilizes infrastructure from Layer-1 blockchain Creditcoin, as centralized networks limit access due to ownership by individual telecom companies. Spacecoin plans to launch multiple low-earth orbit satellites, designed to be cost-effective and disposable, establishing a global 5G network at a lower cost than traditional methods. The project involves collaboration with military and space experts and will use blockchain technology for secure data transmission, allowing users to pay internet fees in cryptocurrency. The first satellite, CTC-0, is set to launch in Q4 2024.
