DOGE price: Dogecoin gets Ethereum-style testnet for trading, lending and stablecoins
Summary
DogeOS launched a public test network for Ethereum-compatible applications such as lending, trading and a DOGE-backed stablecoin, aiming to expand Dogecoin’s use beyond payments and speculation. The network currently relies on selected operators, validators, trusted hardware and a security council; Dogecoin miners do not yet verify its proofs. DogeOS hopes a proposed Dogecoin Core upgrade, still in draft, will eventually let miners check them. The Dogecoin Foundation endorsed the project, but there is no mainnet or upgrade activation date. Earlier efforts to add applications to dog-themed tokens attracted little lasting usage: Dogechain now holds under $300 in tracked applications, and Shibarium about $140,000.
