Dogecoin Begins Rebound—But These Solana and Ethereum Meme Coins Are Up Even More
Bitcoin has risen above $106,000 after a week of losses, increasing by about 2% in the last 24 hours. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Pepe (PEPE) have outperformed Bitcoin, gaining 3% and 9%, respectively. However, Solana-based meme coins like Dogwifhat (WIF), Popcat (POPCAT), Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT), and Moo Deng (MOODENG) have seen even larger gains, each rising at least 10%, with WIF leading at 20%. Despite these gains, WIF remains 79% below its March 2024 all-time high. The meme coin category overall has only gained 3.1% recently and is down nearly 10% over the past week. Bitcoin's market dominance has decreased to 64.15%, reflecting a shift as meme coins and altcoins outperform it. Ethereum-based SPX6900 and Mog Coin (MOG) have also seen significant increases of 12.9% and 15.5%, respectively, while newer tokens like Hyperliquid’s PURR have surged nearly 38.7%.
