Elon Musk says X’s DM feature XChat to have ‘Bitcoin-style encryption’
X is launching a new messaging feature called XChats, which will include audio and video calling, encryption, vanishing messages, and file sharing. Elon Musk claims it will utilize “Bitcoin-style encryption” and is built on the Rust programming language. The rollout follows a pause on X's previous encrypted messaging feature for improvements. XChat is currently available to paid subscribers and requires a four-digit passcode for access.
