Espresso, Project for Composability Between Blockchains, Pushes Main Product Live
Espresso's confirmation layer has launched, facilitating cross-chain transactions and enhancing composability among rollups. This infrastructure allows networks to trust each other's transaction data, improving asset bridging and decentralizing the sequencer component of layer-2 blockchains. The confirmation layer ensures that published blocks remain unchanged, adding security to the sequencer role. It addresses risks associated with centralized sequencers, which can be single points of failure. The layer enables faster, cheaper bridging and interdependencies between rollups, allowing nodes to access data quickly. Espresso plans to integrate with major rollups like Arbitrum and Optimism. The project raised $28 million in March, led by a16z Crypto, to support its development in composability and sequencing.
