Ethereum, Dogecoin Lead Large Cap Losses As Bitcoin Moves Into Bear Market Territory
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a significant decline, with Ethereum (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) leading the losses among large-cap assets. Ethereum's price has dropped to $1,910, resulting in a 7.8% decrease in its market cap, despite an 80% increase in trading volume. Dogecoin's market cap has fallen by 6.6%, with its price at $0.16, reflecting a 16.8% decline over the past week and a 37% drop in the last month. Analysts indicate that Bitcoin (BTC) has entered bear market territory, as momentum decreases. The bear market for altcoins began in 2022, coinciding with rising interest rates and reduced liquidity. According to analyst Tony Severino, Bitcoin's Wave 5 lacks the strength of a typical bull market top, suggesting ongoing weak performance for altcoins due to unfavorable economic conditions.
