Ethereum Foundation shifts focus to user experience, layer-1 scaling
The Ethereum Foundation is refocusing on user experience and layer-1 scaling challenges after a leadership reshuffle in March. Co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak indicated that the changes allow co-founder Vitalik Buterin to concentrate on research rather than daily operations. Buterin has published proposals addressing Ethereum's privacy and performance, including a privacy roadmap suggesting anonymized transactions by default and a proposal to enhance the Ethereum Virtual Machine's efficiency. The foundation plans to prioritize near-term protocol upgrades, targeting user experience and scaling improvements in upcoming upgrades like Pectra, Fusaka, and Glamsterdam. While focusing on immediate goals, the foundation also aims to explore long-term projects related to execution and consensus layers.
