Ethereum Privacy Network Aztec Rolls Out Major Security and Speed Upgrade

Aztec launched Tierra (Alpha V6), an upgrade to its privacy-focused Ethereum layer-2 that addresses a critical vulnerability in its previous version, adds formal verification and security testing, and improves performance. The network says private transaction proofs now take about one second—twice as fast as before—while Ethereum deposits can take as little as 12 seconds, down from an average of two minutes. The launch also brings new privacy-focused applications for payments, trading, AI and messaging, including a revived zk.money app.
