Hydra Test Replays Midnight Claims And Finds A Smaller, More Useful Speed Gain
Summary
Input Output’s October 22 Hydra report tested 24,576 claim transactions using the scripts from a distribution pipeline. Throughput increased from 42 to 79 claims per second, while total completion time dropped from 590.4 to 339.1 seconds, about 43%. The controlled replay suggests the newer implementation materially speeds up this specific workload. It is not a mainnet benchmark or a universal measure of Cardano capacity: Hydra heads process transactions among participants before settling with Cardano, and production conditions such as network reliability and demand may differ. Teams should test their own scripts, participants and submission patterns, and account for deposits, withdrawals and recovery.
