Jack Dorsey's Block Launches Buzz, a Nostr-Based Slack and GitHub Rival for AI Agents
Block launched Buzz, a free, open-source team workspace designed for humans and AI agents to collaborate in one place. Jack Dorsey said it is meant to reduce dependence on Slack and GitHub and is “model-agnostic,” “decentralized,” and “self-sovereign.” Buzz combines channels, threads, DMs, voice, media, code repos, and automated workflows. Agents have their own cryptographic identities and permissions, and can post, review code, run approved automations, and join conversations. Block uses Nostr so identities, histories, and reputations can move across compatible systems, with each action recorded as a signed event in an audit log. Teams can self-host or use Block’s managed version. Buzz is still early, with desktop apps available and mobile unfinished. Block also says it built the platform itself using AI agents.
