Juiced USDS Yields Woo Solana Traders to Sky's Stablecoin
Solana's newest stablecoin, USDS, issued by Sky, has rapidly gained traction, surpassing $89 million in circulating supply within a day of launch. This growth positions USDS as Solana's fastest-growing stablecoin, outpacing PayPal's PYUSD. Sky is investing $2 million monthly to incentivize traders to adopt USDS, with protocols like Save distributing 400,000 USDS monthly to suppliers. Lenders on platforms such as Save, Drift, and Kamino are attracted by yields exceeding 20%, making USDS competitive with the leading stablecoin, USDC. Sky is also encouraging liquidity through the Wormhole token bridging service. However, as incentives diminish, traders may revert to USDC or other stablecoins, emphasizing the importance of establishing brand recognition during the incentive period.
