Kraken Institutional Adds Upshot Valuation Tools For A Harder-To-Price Crypto Market
Kraken Institutional has partnered with Upshot to add valuation tools for NFTs and other illiquid digital assets. The goal is to help institutions price assets that lack clear spot-market quotes, which affects reporting, custody, lending, collateral, risk management, and balance-sheet handling. The move reflects a broader shift in crypto infrastructure: institutions need more than trading access, they need defensible pricing, collateral frameworks, and workflow tools that resemble traditional finance. Valuation models won’t make illiquid assets liquid, but they can provide a consistent basis for estimating value and assessing lending or liquidation risk.
