KyberSwap Offers 10% Bounty to Attacker Who Made Off With $50M

Summary

The decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) managing KyberSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX), has invited the attacker who stole $50 million on Nov 22 to negotiate. The hack reduced KyberSwap's total value locked (TVL) from $80 million to $7.78 million. The DAO offered the hacker a 10% bounty of the stolen funds in return for their safe return. The attacker was given a deadline until Nov. 25. The method of communicating via signed transactions with text strings is an emerging tactic in negotiating with hackers in the decentralized finance sector. In November, over $290 million was lost in DeFi hacks, bringing the year's total to around $1.2 billion.
