Majority of Americans want candidates who support US-based financial technology: Poll
Summary
A September Ipsos poll of 1,545 people, commissioned by the DeFi Education Fund, found 72% considered it at least somewhat important for politicians to support US-built financial technology. However, only 13% said encouraging blockchain, crypto and DeFi growth was very or extremely important. Just 9% were familiar with crypto, 5% with stablecoins, and 87% had held no digital assets in the previous year. Ipsos said crypto ownership and openness to DeFi were broadly unchanged from 2025 and similar across party lines. The poll came ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, as crypto-backed political groups were spending heavily in key races.
