Summary
Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform, integrating capabilities from BVNK, acquired for about $1.8 billion. The service gives banks, fintechs and businesses a single API for accounts that hold fiat and stablecoins, with conversion, transfers, payouts, cards and treasury tools. It connects with Mastercard Move and is expected to support payments across more than 40 currencies and 200-plus countries by 2027; stablecoin-linked cards can be issued in more than 130 countries. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the initial integrators. Mastercard plans to add support for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits.
