Hackers exploited Mobius Token ($MBU) smart contracts on the BNB Chain, stealing over $2.15 million. The attack, identified by Cyvers Alerts, involved deploying a malicious contract to drain 28.5 million MBU tokens, converting them into stablecoins. The attacker’s wallet remains active with the stolen funds. Mobius Token has not issued an official response. In April 2025, nearly $360 million in digital assets were stolen across 18 incidents, marking a 990% increase from March. A significant loss involved a $330 million Bitcoin transfer through a social engineering attack on an elderly U.S. individual.
