Monad Opens Airdrop to Solana Users, Ethereum NFT Holders as MON Launch Nears
Monad, a new layer-1 blockchain targeting high throughput and low fees, announced details of its MON token airdrop. The airdrop targets 5,500 Monad community members and about 225,000 broader crypto participants, focusing on active on-chain users, notable NFT holders (e.g., CryptoPunks, Azuki, Pudgy Penguins, Moonbirds, Meebits as of September 30), regular DeFi users, significant DEX traders, Solana Pump.fun traders, Ethereum DAO governance participants, as well as contributors to crypto education and Monad ecosystem builders. The Foundation emphasized strict anti-sybil measures to avoid rewarding bots or low-value activity. Eligible users can check their allocation starting October 28, with claims open until November 3. Users must claim to receive tokens and are advised to beware of scams. Final tokenomics remain undisclosed, but allocations depend on on-chain activity and social factors. The MON token pre-markets at around $0.08 with over $7.3 million in 24-hour volume. Monad was founded in 2022, raised $225 million, and recently launched its testnet.
