MoonPay to buy North Capital in all-stock deal worth over $60M

Summary

MoonPay agreed to buy North Capital, a regulated US private-markets infrastructure provider, in an all-stock deal reportedly worth over $60 million. The acquisition expands MoonPay beyond crypto payments into US securities infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets, including issuance, custody, and secondary trading of private and tokenized securities. North Capital brings SEC-registered broker-dealer, ATS, transfer agent, and investment adviser businesses, with more than $8.7 billion in transaction volume supported. After closing, North Capital will operate as a wholly owned MoonPay subsidiary. The deal still needs regulatory approval. It is part of MoonPay’s broader acquisition strategy this year, following purchases of Sodot, DFlow, and Entendre.
