Ondo And Alpaca Add In-Kind Minting For Tokenized Stocks
Ondo Finance is simplifying institutional stock tokenization by letting eligible users contribute existing equity inventory directly into Ondo Stocks through Alpaca’s Instant Tokenization Network. Instead of selling shares for cash and then using that cash to mint tokenized exposure, qualified institutions can deposit the underlying securities in kind. The process supports minting and redemption on Ethereum and BNB Chain and is designed to reduce settlement friction while making tokenized equities work more like familiar institutional creation/redemption systems. The service is limited to KYC- and AML-verified institutional participants, so it is not intended for retail users. The main effect is to make the bridge between traditional equity custody and onchain ownership easier to use and scale.
