Morgan Stanley Prepares Bitcoin ETF for NYSE Arca Launch, Picking MSBT Ticker
Morgan Stanley has updated its Bitcoin ETF application, naming Fidelity as a custodian alongside The Bank of New York Mellon and Coinbase Custody. The ETF will trade on NYSE Arca under the ticker MSBT and will waive fees on the first $5 billion invested for six months. The Bitcoin fund was registered in January along with a Solana Trust, but only the Bitcoin ETF has seen recent updates. Both funds are designed as passive vehicles tracking cryptocurrency prices. Morgan Stanley is signaling a broader push into crypto, with plans to build proprietary custody and trading services, and to potentially offer yield and lending products. The firm manages nearly $9 trillion in assets and already provides access to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana trading through its E*Trade platform. It has also applied to launch an Ethereum ETF, though that application remains unchanged since January.
