A new platform, RentAHuman.ai, was launched by a crypto developer from Uma Protocol, allowing AI agents to outsource real-world tasks to humans. This job board enables AI bots to find humans for tasks that require a physical presence, such as attending meetings, picking up packages, or signing documents. Humans set their hourly rates, get paid in stablecoins, and are called upon by AI agents through an integrated API. The service saw explosive growth upon launch, with over 50,000 signups in 24 hours, briefly crashing the servers. Circle's CEO, Jeremy Allaire, also introduced a prototype on Circle’s testnet, featuring milestone-based project management, escrowed payments, AI-human collaboration, and decentralized dispute resolution—all on blockchain and powered by USDC stablecoins. These innovations highlight crypto’s potential new use case: enabling seamless, borderless payments and automating labor markets in the emerging AI-driven gig economy. Blockchain infrastructure allows AI agents to handle micropayments and contracts without traditional banking, potentially transforming the nature of work and human-AI collaboration.
