Morning Minute: Bitcoin ETFs See Biggest Inflows Since May

Summary

Spot Bitcoin ETFs posted about $854 million in inflows last week, their strongest week since May and a sharp reversal after eight weeks of outflows. Spot ETH ETFs also saw strong demand with $244 million in net inflows. On a market-cap-adjusted basis, BTC inflows were roughly equivalent to $1.25 billion. Macro data was mixed but leaned supportive: earnings were generally positive, while the July jobs report was much weaker than expected, showing a loss of 23,000 jobs versus forecasts for a 80,000 gain. That report pushed expectations for a September rate hike lower, with odds falling from 67% to 42%. BTC and ETH only rose about 2% on the week, but the return of ETF inflows signals improving market sentiment and may mark an early step toward a bottom and broader trend reversal.
