NFTs record $8.8B sales volume in 2024 — CryptoSlam
NFT sales reached a record $8.83 billion in 2024, surpassing 2023's total by over $100 million. Ethereum leads all blockchains with $44.9 billion in all-time NFT sales, followed by Solana at $6.1 billion and Bitcoin at $4.9 billion. Despite the increase, 2024's figures remain significantly lower than the peak years of 2021 and 2022, which had sales of $15.7 billion and $23.7 billion, respectively. A resurgence in NFT sales occurred in the fourth quarter after a seven-month downturn, with October sales at $353 million, November at $562 million, and December reaching $877 million. Ethereum-based collections drove December's sales, totaling $482 million. Pudgy Penguins led the charts with $115 million in sales, while Bitcoin and Solana-based NFTs recorded $172 million and $100 million, respectively. Animoca Brands' chairman predicts future growth in NFT trading volumes as the crypto market expands.
