OKX And NYSE Owner ICE Move Toward 24/7 Tokenized US Stock Trading

Summary

OKXICE, a joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, has notified the SEC of plans for a tokenized securities venue offering round-the-clock trading in more than 60 US-listed stocks. The proposal would use OKX’s X Layer blockchain and proceed under the SEC’s innovation exemption framework. Companies would be notified before their shares are offered as tokens and could object. If launched, the venue would bring a major traditional exchange operator into tokenized equities, while questions remain about shareholder rights, custody, corporate actions and links between tokens and underlying securities.
