Optimism Recommends op-node v1.19.8 For Sequencers Ahead Of Glamsterdam
Summary
Optimism released op-node v1.19.8 on October 1, recommending it especially for sequencer operators using `--l2.follow.source`. The update prefetches each new L1 head’s block and receipts to reduce avoidable delays in L2 block building; if prefetching fails, the node falls back to its usual fetch process. It also prevents startup with custom rollup configurations that schedule Jovian or later hardforks at conflicting timestamps or out of order. Existing chains in the Superchain registry are unaffected. Separately, Sepolia OP Stack operators must use op-node v1.19.5 or newer before the October 6 Glamsterdam hardfork. Ordinary users need take no action.
