PancakeSwap’s One-Click Crosschain Swaps to Simplify DeFi for Institutions
PancakeSwap has launched one-click crosschain swaps using Across Protocol, enhancing user experience in decentralized finance (DeFi) by eliminating the need for complex blockchain bridges. Users can swap assets directly through PancakeSwap’s interface between BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Base. Across’s intent-based transfers allow users to specify desired outcomes, with a network of relayers competing to fulfill transactions. This method improves security by avoiding asset lockups in contracts, reducing exploit risks, as demonstrated by the 2022 Ronin Bridge hack. The integration aims to simplify DeFi infrastructure, potentially increasing institutional adoption by lowering operational complexity and smart contract risks. Other protocols are also developing solutions to streamline crosschain transactions, including Unichain's proposed ERC-7683 standard. DEX aggregator 1inch has introduced its Pathfinder update for improved swap rates and transaction efficiency.
