Pudgy Penguins winds down Pudgy Party mobile game
Pudgy Penguins is ending its mobile game Pudgy Party and stopping further development, redirecting gaming efforts to Pudgy World, a browser-based title positioned as the ecosystem’s flagship game. The team said Pudgy World has better scalability and a stronger path for onboarding new users. Pudgy Party launched in August 2025 and reportedly topped 1 million downloads, including over 500,000 on Google Play. The move reflects a broader shift as Pudgy Penguins consolidates around one core gaming product while expanding beyond NFTs into toys, licensing, and entertainment. The decision also comes amid wider Web3 gaming weakness. Another project, Fishing Frenzy, said it will shut down after failing to find a sustainable crypto-gaming business model, underscoring ongoing difficulty in proving product-market fit for blockchain games.
