Kraken rolls out perpetual futures for US traders through CFTC-regulated venue

Summary

Kraken launched perpetual futures trading for eligible US users through Bitnomial, expanding its regulated derivatives business. The products are available on Kraken Pro and cover major crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, Cardano, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Avalanche. Traders can manage these positions in the same futures wallet used for Kraken’s CME-listed crypto futures. Perpetual futures are derivatives with no expiry date and have largely traded offshore; Kraken said they generated more than $60 trillion in global volume in 2025. The launch builds on Kraken’s recent US expansion, including CME-listed crypto futures in July 2025 and margin trading earlier this month. The move comes as US exchanges race to bring crypto derivatives onshore. Coinbase, Kalshi, and others have also introduced or expanded regulated perpetual futures after recent CFTC actions and guidance.
